1. Eyy Kid Blaize! "Bad Boy Blaize", what's good my brother?
I’m cool bro, been a minute since I did one of these. Let’s get it cracking

2. Okay! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and background and all that?
Mehn it’s the one and only Blaize, Well known in Lagos and all around the world. I’m originally from Kwara state and I’m currently based in Illinois, USA. Just so yall know the extent of my hustle. As soon as I get my bachelors in Computer Science, I plan on touring the World.

3. How long have you been into music now?
At this point I can say I’ve been into music all my life. I started recording my own songs with the group Paper Inc around 2009/10. So professionally I’ve been doing this for 5 years.

4. So how did you come about the name "Kid Blaize"?
Wait hold on, have you heard Jamb Question by BrisB ?

5. Lmao, See this Guy! 1-0 Don’t worry!
Haha jokes.. To be honest It’s a lot that comes together when an artist chooses a stage name, but the main thing for me was my fascination with fire. So since I drop “hot bars” it made sense for my name to relate. You feel ?

6. What made you figure out your thing was really "the music", how did you come across your abilities to do this?
Mehn I’ll be lying if I said I figured it out, like Fela said “Music is a spiritual thing”. I’d like to think music chose me. Music has gotten me through a lot of tough times and I continue to rely on it as a way for me to meditate and connect with the people around me. I was always a nerd at everything I did including rap which Is why I’m addicted to honing my skill in any way I can; which is how I discovered my ability.

7. What or who exactly inspires you to keep going further?
I was born and raised in Lagos bro !! That’s enough inspiration for the most uninspired soul on earth. Ha, Its also definitely a blessing that I happen to have wonderful siblings and great parents that understand the value in positivity and continue to show valued support. I have no choice but to keep it moving

8. How exactly have you been able to balance up school with music and probably work? i mean, Its like a huge ass task for many artistes today.
It sucks mehn, can’t even lie. But life is all about balance and how we can handle all the things on our plate. Na me do strong head say I wan do music. To be great, there is no evading hard work.

9. Is there a challenge you think has been slowing you down or giving you a hard time in your music?
I wouldn’t call it a challenge yet, all I will say on this is the current Nigerian mindset towards music is too closed. Music is one of the country’s main exports, yet we want to pretend that the whole country can only make one type of music. If you like the music just support it mehn.

10. Which of the the top famous artistes do you listen to regularly?
Got Davido, Wizkid & Olamide on repeat these days bro. Regularly I listen to J. Cole, Drake & Future

11. What do you think about the present state of the underground music scene, anything pleasing, discouraging or irritating?
I’m just happy there is even an underground scene. There’s still no structure and a severe lacking of sponsors, like award shows and things like that.

12. Is there something you think the majority lacks?
More Kid Blaize Music ?

13. Looool. Osheyy Their Daddy! So What about your mixtape now? Heard its coming out soon too, what should the people expect from you? what's it about?
Yeah bro ! LOS2ORD. It’s my official debut and I can’t wait for the world to hear it. It’s been a long time coming. They should expect a diverse array of sounds and bangers.

14. And how long have you been working on this tape, if i may ask?
Well, i started work on the mixtape everyone is going to hear in July this year. It was a very hectic summer for me, but the results are in LOS2ORD which would be available on the 20th of October.

15. I see you've really turned your back against commercial music which used to be your old sound some years back, what exactly made you take that bold step.
Nah, I wouldn’t say I turned my back against it. I still make whatever kind of music I want. The only thing about commercial music is that it is meant to be commercial. Whenever I make songs for the mainstream, I expect to get my name out there through radio play etc. It’s discouraging when an artist tries so hard to fit the “commercial” mold and is still not recognized by the mainstream.

16. If you were to start up a label today, can you tell us like 5 underground artistes you would love to sign and 1 producer?, we are gonna take this as the top 5 underground acts you fuck with.
Haaaaaa .. Well off the top, I would sign Dhesir, IBEH, Koby, Otunba and LadyDonli. Then I’ll get the maddest producer in the game Cee3. Easily a legendary label right there.

17. And what do you think about upcoming artistes these days, anything good or something funny about the lot.
Ha. Thank You for asking this question my guy. I just sit and watch these days, school hasn’t been the only reason I’ve been quiet recently. It’s just the fact that upcoming artistes these days don’t know to pay due respect. Not to even mention music quality, but who gave them the blueprint? I’m back smoovin now tho. No wahala tho, I fucks with all music, new or old.

18. Okay now, most rappers always have a specific answer to this question, i really dunno why tho. But is there any artiste you feel might be a threat to your present position in the rap game or a threat to your desired position. Basically is there any rapper you feel is or might be a rival to you? Lol.
I don’t see a lot of threats, but I definitely see hella rivals. I’m not gonna drop names so they don’t feel threatened lol.

19. If not for your music, on what path of life do you think you would find yourself right now?
I’d be on the same path bro, my path is purely aimed at success. Without music, I may just be a little depressed cuz this life can be crazy.

20. Do you have any word out to people in the race to success just like you, anything encouraging for the boys out there.
Always do your own thing !, don’t hit pause for anybody.

21. Again any shoutout for someone out there reading this, friends, family, bae, fans etc?
Shout out to Paper Inc and the YBG crew. All my fans please accept LOS2ORD as my offering to ya’ll for being gone for so long. It’s that Blaizeville takeover we’ve all been waiting for.

22. So No shoutout for bae?
Did you arrange bae for me ? cuz I’m lowkey looking for bae to elope with to Hawaii

23. Lol I'm just kidding. okay now, Alright! So thank you so much for your short time out with us, we really appreciate it. God bless.
It’s No p bro!
Bless Up
